The Springvale Farm Walk takes place every year on Maine Open Farm Day, the 4th Sunday in July!
Once a year the trails between farms on Hanson Ridge Road open to the public! Come walk, bike or drive to visit 7 farms in Springvale, Maine and discover the treasures at your local farms!
Springvale Farm Walk Photo Contest
The 2026 Springvale Farm Walk photo contest is CLOSED for submissions, our farmers will vote and choose winners soon!
Prizes will be awarded to the winner and 2 runners-up in the weeks following the Farm Walk.
First prize gift basket will include: a local jar of honey from York County Beekeepers, gift card to Rivard Farm, lavender product from Sky Island Homestead, $20.00 gift certificate for frozen lamb from Noon Family Sheep Farm, local jam, pickles and a Springvale Farm Walk t-shirt!
Runner up prizes will include local goods curated by Katie and Joe of Blueberry Bend Farm.

Twin Maples Farm
A small-scale vegetable operation growing garlic, beets, carrots, onions, tomatoes and peppers with organic practices.
McDougal Orchards
An eighth generation farm specializing in growing high quality u-pick fruit.
Sky Island Homestead
A diverse homestead producing fresh eggs, lavender products and hosting a variety of workshops.
Blueberry Bend
A 2 acre u-pick, high bush blueberry farm with 3 varieties planted in 1982.
Sanford Community Garden
A project of the Mousam Way Land Trust, the garden’s primary goal is for people to enjoy the experience of growing some of their own food.
Rivard Farm
A 4th generation farm currently specializing in blueberries, raspberries and flowers.
Noon Family Sheep Farm
A small, organic sheep farm with the mission of “nurturing nature for nutrients” and keeping all systems in harmony.
Three Rivers Land Trust
A member-supported organization with an active volunteer group and mission to “build reciprocal relationships to land through conservation, recreation and education".
Maine State Beekeepers Association
a non-profit membership organization of beekeepers in Maine, dedicated to education, using best practices and honey bee health.

Farm Walk FAQ's
The Springvale Farm Walk doesn't have a set starting location, all participating farms are open from 10am-2pm on Sunday, July 26th, 2026. You can walk, bike or drive to each location, but there is limited parking at some farms. Large parking areas that are best for hikers and bikers to leave their vehicles can be found at:
McDougal Orchards- 201 Hanson Ridge Road
Rivard Farm- 110 Blanchard Road
Sanford Community Garden- 246 Blanchard Road

This year each of the seven farms will have an on-site treasure hunt that will take you around the property, and most farms will have products and refreshments for sale.
McDougal Orchards will be hosting the Three Rivers Land Trust "Muffins with Friends", which will be a variety of homemade breakfast treats, coffee and tea starting at 9am (donations welcome). There will also be booths set up at McDougal Orchards for York County Cooperative Extension, and the Maine State Beekeepers Association.

Check the weather forecast! The Farm Walk happens rain or shine, so come prepared with whatever you need to be comfortable! We recommend hats, sunscreen, bug spray and close-toed shoes for those planning to hike. The trails are well marked but there are bugs and sometimes plants like poison ivy along some parts of the hike.
