Honeycrisp was developed by the University of Minnesota and introduced in 1991. It is a Keepsake and Minnesota 1627 cross, once thought to be a Macoun x Honeygold cross, but that has since been disproven through genetic testing. Mellow, sweet and fragrant, crisp and juicy. Holds shape for baking and really is sweet as honey!
In 2025 we had a VERY small crop of Honeycrisp, they were opened to the public on Friday, September 12th and were picked clean by the next day at 11am. Other local orchards had a better crop than we did, so check out Kellys, Romac, Giles, Butternut and more if you are looking for Honeycrisp!
