Some 2023 updates:
Early in the morning on May 18th, while the apple trees were in full bloom, the temperature fell below freezing. That dip in temperature has damaged some of our apples, but we still have a crop and expect good picking for this season.
There will be NO peaches, nectarines or plums this year. The frigid temperatures in February killed all of the buds.
Right now you can look forward to picking*:
Golden Delicious
Crispin/Mutsu
Empire
Macoun
- McIntosh
- Cortlands (very few left)
Raspberries (no picking on Wednesdays)
Fortune, Brock, more heirloom varieties

We are OPEN for the 2023 Season!
Our Hours Are:
Monday-Wednesday 9am-5pm
Thursday-Friday 9am-6pm
Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm
Monday to Wednesday is a great time to visit. Usually the orchard is a little quieter so you can feel relaxed wandering through the apple trees or bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy. Check out our Orchard Education Center to learn more about growing and harvesting apples, spend some time in Fairy Village building houses or take a walk on our trails while you are here!
Thursdays and Fridays we stay open a little later to give our customers a chance to visit after work but before the busy weekend.
Saturdays and Sundays are usually our busiest days, which is why we suggest making a weekend u-pick reservation if you are planning to pick fruit, take a weekend wagon ride or visit the maze or pumpkin patch. Wagon rides run from 10am-4pm (weather permitting) and Captain Jack’s Donut Shack is open with fresh donuts and other treats! We also typically have a food truck on the property from 11am-2pm serving lunch options.
The best way to stay informed during the season:

“McDougal Orchards is a seventh generation (going on eighth!) family farm specializing in the production of tree fruit available for sale to u-pick and farm store customers from early August thru October.
We invite families of all ages to step back in time, slow down, relax and enjoy the farm’s healthy, high-quality agricultural products and low-impact recreational opportunities.
We grow over 40 varieties of apples, as well as peaches, nectarines, plums, pears, fall-raspberries, pumpkins and winter squash. We have a corn maze, a fairy village and miles of walking trails, too!”
